At Wits, five major capital projects - the 'Big 5' – are either currently underway or have recently been completed, requiring massive financial investment.
In addition, many other buildings on campus require upgrades and refurbishment.
 But apart from bricks and mortar, our university has many other ongoing needs that are only met through generous donations:
- Funding for bursaries and scholarships for talented students who would otherwise not be able to afford tertiary education;
- Research programmes across all faculties;
- Upgrades to the William Cullen library, and others;
- Chancellor's Annual Fund - providing flexible and immediate funding as needs arise.
Individual donors, particularly alumni who have benefited from a Wits education, have always supported Wits. They have one aspiration in common - they want to make a difference to the lives of others today and leave a legacy that will benefit future generations.
