We are pleased to announce Sandane Chauke as the recipient of the Bursary in 2012. Sandane is a second year Medical School student who passed her first year with flying colours. She is hugely grateful and everyone at Pay it Forward and Wits Foundations wishes her every success in her studies this year.
The vision behind this particular bursary is a world where everyone does something for somebody else to change their life. According to Bianca Brebnor, who established the Bursary, 'the best way to change someone's life is through education. What better gift can you give anyone?'
'If you have been blessed in life – either through the circumstances of your birth or the opportunities you had to get a great education and become successful – please consider contributing towards the education of another person who hasn't been so lucky.
'Such a small thing and yet what a difference it would make to that person.' Plus:
- the country, so desperately in need of skills, would benefit;
- if the bursary recipient started a business one day, their employees would benefit;
- when the beneficiaries become successful one day, their gratitude could inspire them to do the same for someone else;
- if enough people's lives were turned around, perhaps poverty would be reduced and crime would decrease and every South African would benefit.
At a cost of R30,000 a year for tuition, a group of 20 people would only have to pay about R125 a month to fund a student.
Any kind of contribution, big or small, will make a huge difference to someone's life! Click here to make your contribution online.
